El Ancón Sierra
History
Panorama has been involved in this outstanding gated community since its inception. In 1981 Panorama sold the land to the developer, John Green, from London, (brother and partner of the art dealer Richard Green) who used the name of his original beachfront project “El Ancón”, almost within sight of the new Ancón Sierra. The first phase was finished in 1983 with the opening of the Club House, attended by Princess Michael of Kent, among other dignitaries. Christopher Clover was on the board of Directors of the developing company and since 1997 has had his own residence there.
Location
Ancón Sierra enjoys a fantastic location, in the heart of Las Lomas del Marbella Club and the Golden Mile, two minutes’ drive to Puente Romano and the beach, and five minutes to both Marbella City and Puerto Banús.
Community Services Provided
24-hour security provided by the guards and cameras; a secretary who organizes everything for the owners; two enormous pools, one of which is heated from March to end May; the Club House which is now leased to a high class Italian Restaurant called Sol y Luna, and a completely re-done infrastructure (roads, pipes conduits, gas lines, etc.)
Types of Living Units Available
Ancón Sierra consists of two phases: The lower phase has about 14 villas, 10 townhouses, and 24 beautiful terrace apartments — a small community of 48 properties. The neighbours, El Ancón Alto, was completed around 1992 and comprises a group of terrace apartments, most with great views, underground garages, and is now a separate community from the lower phase, except for the joint ownership of the Club and Club pool.
The qualities of finish of these properties remain high today, and this urbanization is for a selective owner who likes top service, great views, and very well designed and finished properties, close to everything.
